On leaving London

I have lived on and off in London since I was nineteen. Or at least spent a lot of time there. With my friends and my family, in my apartment. For various reasons I packed it all up in 2006 and moved my stuff and my memories back to Amsterdam.
I guess it was the right decision, but it still smarts . . .
